The Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoL&E) on September 25, 2026, issued a notification regarding the implementation of ESI Benefits and contributions in Gujarat Districts under the Code on Social Security, 2020.
The following has been stated: -
•The Central Government has appointed October 01, 2026, as the effective date for payment of employer and employee contributions under Section 29 of the Code on Social Security, 2020, and provision of ESI benefits under Chapter IV.
•This applies to establishments in 15 previously non-implemented districts and 16 partially implemented districts in Gujarat.
•The notification supersedes the earlier notification dated September 22, 2026.
